Since its creation in 1981, under the impetus of Jean-Paul Boutellier, the Festival Jazz à Vienne has celebrated the world of jazz during the first two weeks of July. Each year, more than 200,000 festival-goers come to meet the 1,000 artists performing on the 4 stages. The Roman Theater, built in the 1st century, is the emblematic place of Jazz in Vienne. Its singular acoustics mixed with the imprint of history offer an exceptional setting for the public and the internationally renowned artists who perform there. Real mix between modernity and old, sincere musical interbreeding, the festival rich in its diversity wants to be plural and open to all.
