A veritable celebration of French-speaking music, Les Francos de Montréal brings together thousands of festival-goers each year at the nerve center of Montreal's cultural life, the Quartier des Spectacles. Founded in 1989 by Alain Simard, Guy Latraverse and Jean-Louis Foulquier, Les Francos is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote French-language song, encourage its distribution and stimulate the circulation of artists from all over the Francophonie. Prioritizing accessibility to culture through a program combining established artists and emerging talents, both national and international, the event also has the mission of contributing to the quality of life of Montrealers, to the international notoriety of their city and to its cultural, economic and tourist development.
