"Closed Sessions is a record label with deep roots in Chicago’s Hip Hop scene, and the national Hip Hop community. Closed Sessions started as a content partnership between Alexander “DJ RTC” Fruchter of rubyhornet.com and Michael Kolar of SoundScape Studios during the wild west like environment of the blog era. Beginning in late 2008, Closed Sessions hosted first market plays from the era’s most innovative and emergent artists. In addition, Closed Sessions took fans into the studio with these artists to provide an examination of their art as well as original recordings. Following compilations and documentaries featuring artists such as Action Bronson, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Skyzoo, Raekwon, Bun B, Blu, Vic Mensa, The Cool Kids, and others, Closed Sessions transitioned from a content/party brand to record label."
