Leading global talent agency Wasserman Music has signed breakout Argentine urban pop star Maria Becerra for representation worldwide except Mexico, Chile, and Argentina, capping a whirlwind year that has seen the 23-year-old artist ink a global deal with Warner Music Latina, score four Latin Grammy nominations, and quickly emerge as one of the world's most popular Urbano artists.

Becerra's 2019 debut EP, 222, immediately propelled her to popularity in her native Argentina and beyond, bringing her to the attention of American record label 300 Entertainment (Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug), which made the rising star its first-ever Latin music signing.

By the time of her debut album, 2021's Animal, Becerra's unique mix of urban pop, hip-hop, bachata, and reggaeton styles had brought her a Best New Artist nomination at the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards and a string of collaborations with global stars including Camila Cabello, Becky G, Rauw Alejandro, Enrique Iglesias, and J Balvin, with whom she performed at the 2022 Latin Grammys, where Animal was nominated for Best Urban Album. Her global smash with Balvin, 2021's "Qué Más Pues?," became one of the reggaeton superstar's biggest-ever collaborations, with more than 760 million Spotify streams to date worldwide, launching Becerra's career into the stratosphere.

Becerra's most recent album, 2022's La Nena De Argentina, became the first-ever album to have its songs occupy the top 5 positions on Billboard's Argentina Hot 100, with the album's singles hitting the top 10 in charts around the world and driving over 700 million Spotify streams and 1.5 billion total YouTube views to date.

With over 5 million followers and more than 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Maria is the most listened to female artist in Argentina and the world for the third consecutive year, and with this last record -- 'La Nena de Argentina' -, she becomes the first Argentine woman in Spotify's history to achieve it. She's closing the year with an impressive figure of more than 2.3 billion streams, consolidating herself as a leading figure on the platform.

In 2023, she was invited as a panelist on several panels that addressed significant topics for the scene. She participated in the panel "The empowerment of women and hyper sexualization in music" at BIME Bogota, an international meeting of the Music Industry. In addition, she was part of the "Boys Club No More!" panel, during Billboard Latin Week, focused on the role of women in the big charts, alongside prominent colleagues such as Young Miko, Nathy Peluso, Nicki Nicole, Kany Garcia and Gale.

After an international tour that took Maria to stages in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia, and more, River Plate is the venue chosen to celebrate the tour that consecrated La Nena de Argentina. In 2023, Becerra became the first Argentine woman to sell out the country's largest stadium, Buenos Aires' 65,000-seat Estadio River Plate, breaking the record for its fastest-ever sell out at under 90 minutes, beating previous sellouts by major artists including Harry Styles, Coldplay, Guns N' Roses, and Michael Jackson.

Becerra also recently performed at Billboard's inaugural Latin Women in Music event (where she received its Visionary Award), Lollapalooza Argentina 2023 in front of over 100,000 people, and the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards — with 'I Wish,' nominated as Urban Fusion/Interpretation, she dazzled the audience with a symphonic version and shared the stage with Pablo Alboran in 'Friends,' her collaboration was nominated as Song of the Year. Maria Becerra's impression in the Latin Grammys goes beyond her memorable performance: this year she received four nominations, achieving a total of six in only three years. The fast ascent in the music industry reveals the talent and charisma of this artist.

Maria Becerra is represented worldwide except Mexico, Chile, and Argentina by Wasserman Music agents Juan Toro and Ryan Soroka.
