With a vibrant and innovative blend of soul-stirring RandB and traditional country with a sultry twang, Don Louis is one to watch in country music. Today (4.19), the East Texas native announces his new album Liquor Talkin’ out August 23rd via EMPIRE / Money Myers Entertainment LLC. The first single “Long Time Comin’” and its music video is available everywhere now, and for an artist who has worked his way from humble beginnings in a single-wide trailer to earning more than 31 million streams and praise from BET, it’s just that — a long time coming.

On the autobiographical “Long Time Comin’,” written by Louis with Kaleb Jones and produced by Serg Sanchez (Morgan Wallen, Bailey Zimmerman, etc.), Louis tells a story of a struggling musician's relentless pursuit of a dream and the backbone it takes to navigate the ups and downs of that journey. It’s an anthem for perseverance in the face of adversity, resonating with those who refuse to give up on their dream, whatever it may be. MusicRow says he’s “straight-up country with a tiny hint of rasp” and applauds his “earnest delivery” on the new track.
Born and raised in a small Texas town near the Oklahoma border, Louis grew up influenced by the likes of George Strait and Toby Keith, while also leaning into his love for hip-hop with influences including The Weeknd, J Cole and Kanye, all of which can be heard on his upcoming album.
The Tennessean calls him "an artist worth watching" and says his music lies "somewhere between Josh Turner's baritone, George Strait's delivery and Toby Keith's unexpected charm."
Fans can expect an album tracklist reveal on Louis’ socials in the coming weeks and new music to drop over the next few months. In the meantime, fans can pre-save Liquor Talkin', here: empire.ffm.to/liquortalkin.
