British singer-songwriter sensation Myles Smith continues to shatter records on a global scale with his platinum-certified smash single “Stargazing” (Sony Music UK/RCA Records) hitting #1 at Top 40 and Hot AC radio this week.
After hitting #1 on the Alternative radio chart in September, Myles is now the first UK artist to hit #1 at all three formats with a debut radio single in the US.
Myles also now holds the record for the biggest jump to #1 on Hot AC chart history, moving from #6 to #1. The previous records were held by Lady Gaga andamp; Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile,” Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” and Taylor Swift’s “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart,” each of which went from #5 to #1.
Myles’ accomplishments at radio are the latest in a long line of successes this past year, including the recent announcement of Myles as a nominee for The BRIT Awards’ 2025 Rising Star title and earning BBC Introducing’s 2024 Artist of the Year. The biggest global single from a UK artist this year, “Stargazing” currently sits at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending 28 weeks on the chart – the longest running Hot 100 hit from a British artist in 2024.
Amassing over 1.4 billion streams across his catalogue, Myles has unmistakably established himself as a phenomenon and one of the biggest breakout stories of the year, selling out his global 2024 tour in addition to performing on the TODAY Show, Later… with Jools Holland, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. He recently released his latest EP, A Minute…, featuring the viral single “Nice To Meet You.” Next year, he is set to support Ed Sheeran on the European leg of his Mathematics Tour and will be returning to North America for headlining dates on his We Were Never Strangers global run.
