Up to Here by The Tragically Hip Tops the Charts in Canada, Reaffirming Its Iconic Status

The Tragically Hip have returned to the top of the music charts, debuting at #1 across multiple categories: #1 Album Sales Chart, #1 Digital Album Sales Chart, #1 Catalogue Album Sales Chart, #1 Digital Catalogue Album Sales Chart, #1 Album Chart w/ TEA (album sales + digital track sales), and #1 Alternative Album Sales Chart.

Though they’ve been here many times before, this achievement is particularly meaningful, arriving 35 years after the original release of their debut album Up To Here which peaked at #13. The reissued Up To Here deluxe boxset, came out on November 8 via Universal Music Canada.

This release coincides with several major events: the global debut of the award-winning Prime Video docuseries The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal on September 20, which won TIFF’s People’s Choice Documentary Award and CIFF’s Audience Award for Top Overall Score, and the October 1 release of This Is Our Life, a coffee table book by The Tragically Hip, created in partnership with Genesis Publications.

2024 BY THE NUMBERS:

- The lead single from Up To Here deluxe boxset "Get Back Again” has spent 17 weeks inside the top 10 at Active Rock, 3 weeks of which were at #1 making it the band’s first in 15 years

- Consumption in the U.S. has increased by 33%, with streams up 53% and catalogue sales soaring by 307%

- Canadian sales surged with 4 albums inside top 50 on the Album Chart with 2 more inside top 200

- The #1 record in Catalogue Album Chart with 2 more inside the top 10 and 3 more inside the top 100

- Digital Album Chart boasts 13 albums, while 16 singles made their way into Digital Song Chart

- Follower growth across all platforms continue with Instagram seeing a +32.39% increase in followers, and TikTok has seen a +12.22% increase in followers

- YouTube Views are up 67% year over year, and subscribers are up 158% from last year

- This Is Our Life by The Tragically Hipcoffee table book, in partnership with Genesis Publications, has sold over 20K copies globally in the first 3 weeks

- SiriusXM recently broadcast a live conversation featuring host Tara Slone and the band at Massey Hall on The Tragically Hip Radio. This event was recorded and will air across CBC platforms including Gem, starting December 6
