Armada Music is the biggest independent dance music label in the world, founded in 2003 by Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron and David Lewis (AR-MA-DA). Promoting dance music all over the world from its offices in Amsterdam (HQ), New York and London, Armada Music represents and cultivates the creative exploits of some of the biggest players in the electronic music game. We are looking for a PR Manager, based in our Amsterdam office, who will play a key role in our global Promotion activities.
The focus of the PR Manager is to play a supporting role in our global PR activities. They will contribute to the execution of promotional plans for the Armada brand and its artists’ campaigns within the traditional press as well as new media landscape.
Detailed tasks would include:
PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES:
- You will create – or contribute to the creation of – promotional PR plans for singles and albums, from individual releases to brand activations
- You will actively compile and consolidate and evaluate results and achievements to artists and their managements
- You will actively search for press and new media opportunities to expand the audience of Armada Music and our artists, to tell the story of the Armada Music brand and our artists’ music in the most suitable way
- You will organize and visit industry gatherings on behalf of Armada Music. You will also organize and plan PR activities, meetings for relevant media and industry outlets, promotional gatherings and pitches, and take care of mailouts;
- You will actively seek out new trends and opportunities in relation to promotion in general, as well as opportunities centered around releases or artists;
- You will prepare and send out press releases, artist biographies and promo material.
RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATION
- You will be responsible for initiating, maintaining and developing Armada Music’s relationship with (media) partners across print, broadcast and digital media in both traditional and new formats;
- You will send regular updates to colleagues who are in the lead of projects;
- You will follow up on initial publicity activities by phone, e-mail or via face-to-face meetings;
- You will arrange publicity events, such as media interviews and personal appearances;
- You will coordinate interviews and publicity events for our artists and spokespeople.
WHO IS THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
- Preferably you have an existing network of contacts across the press and new media landscape;
- You are extremely passionate about electronic dance music and preferably have some experience working within the music industry;
- You have extensive knowledge of dance music, and know all about Armada Music and other labels’ catalogs and artists;
- You have strong writing skills and have a flair for storytelling;
- You can think outside of the box;
- You are organized and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with lots of moving parts across multiple campaigns;
- You are sociable and love working closely with the various departments of the company to achieve solid results;
- You are fluent in both Dutch and English.
