JOB PURPOSE
Demon Music Group is one of the largest UK independent record companies, specialising in the marketing of physical and digital catalogue music with repertoire sourced from both major and independent companies around the world as well as our own vast library of rights.
We control music catalogues from a number of high profile artists across a number of genres including Suede, T. Rex, Belinda Carlisle and many more.
We are the home to a number of successful labels including Demon Records and Edsel, spanning all genres and price-points. We specialise in fan-led high value CD and vinyl box sets, and vinyl re-issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Role Responsibility
As Product Manager you will be part of a team responsible for a schedule of physical new releases and catalogue titles across Demon Records, and Edsel, plus when required product management of other key Demon labels to ensure each are delivered on time and to our high standards.
If successful in the role you will be working on clients such as Suede, Bob Mould, Frank Black, The Yardbirds, T.REX and more
The Demon Music Group team is a small and supportive one, you will need to demonstrate; a can do attitude, great ideas, and enthusiasm and passion for music.
Accountabilities:
Product management of all releases on the schedule to deadline, within budget, and to a high quality. This includes compiling, management of the licensing process, briefing of designers and mastering companies, working closely with operations, sell in of titles.
Working closely with artists and artist management
Origination of new product ideas and ranges in conjunction with sales
Chart reporting and sales analysis of label performance
Strategic Planning andamp; Decision Making
A need to demonstrate strong planning skills, be methodical and well organised as a means to be able to manage a busy workload of releases. Be able to work autonomously, but manage a range of external suppliers, plus influence key internal members to deliver product on time.
Relationships
Key relationships within the business with the Head of Product andamp; Marketing, Marketing manager, digital marketing executive and digital product manager, licensing, Operations and Sales. Externally key relationships to be developed with design and mastering companies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING andamp; EXPERIENCE
Essential the candidate has at least 3-5 years relevant physical product management experience in either music, or home entertainment, gaming, publishing
Must have a passion for vinyl and a knowledge of the process of being a product manager
Essential to demonstrate specific catalogue marketing experience, in particular working effectively under pressure and with a large workload
Must have a solid knowledge of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and beyond pop music, and a broad knowledge of all genres. It is essential the successful candidate has knowledge of repertoire owners, both from majors and Indies.
Must have experience in creating CDs, vinyl, and box sets
A passion and enthusiasm for catalogue marketing and attention to detail is key. Be able to understand price points, fan bases, formatting ideas
A strong understanding of licensing process
Strong presentation skills both verbally in product presentation meetings and through the creation of marketing assets
A strong understanding of licensing process
Experience of working with design and mastering companies
Able to use the OCC to generate chart reports
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will ideally be educated to degree level and/ or be able to demonstrate a strong music background (knowledge is more important) in product management.
You will have great interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively within a team, and work directly with artists and management.
You must understand the music industry, be interested in catalogue music and have knowledge and ideas that you could bring to the role.
You must be numerate, computer proficient, have good presentation skills be able to demonstrate music knowledge, and techniques in researching projects.
Ability to work with Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, SAP Purchase Order Management.
Professional Experience
You will have 3-5 years product management experience is desired within the music industry, or a similar industry
Able to demonstrate working on a demanding product releases schedule
Experience of working with designers / mastering / authoring companies
Social media experience is highly desirable
