Big Machine Records today announces the signing of GRAMMY® Award nominated singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd. The decorated tunesmith joins an impressive roster of artists which includes Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, Midland, Rascal Flatts, Jackson Dean and more.
“Ryan has been part of our extended Big Machine family for quite some time as he’s been a significant writer and contributor to our publishing company, Big Machine Music,” says Big Machine Label Group Chairman andamp; CEO Scott Borchetta. “Adding his recorded artistry to the Big Machine Records roster is truly an honor.”
Hurd has accumulated more than one billion on-demand career streams, received numerous award nominations (CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Music Awards, etc.) including two GRAMMY® Award nominations and has scored multiple No. 1 hits as singer and a songwriter. His debut album, Pelago, reached the top five of Spotify’s most-streamed Country albums and garnered critical acclaim. Signed to Big Machine Music for publishing, Hurd earned his place in Country music history writing PLATINUM No. 1 hits for Blake Shelton, Jordan Davis, Luke Bryan, Lady A and Diplo/Morgan Wallen, in addition to writing many other hits for artists like Conner Smith and Breland.
“I’m beyond excited to welcome Ryan Hurd to the Big Machine Records family,” adds Kris Lamb, EVP/General Manager of Big Machine Records. “As a massive fan of Ryan’s music for over a decade, I’m thrilled to represent his exceptional artistry and share his music with the world. This is more than just a milestone – it’s a full-circle moment.”
Hurd’s brand-new song “This Party Sucks” will be released this Friday, October 25, marking his first official release with Big Machine Records. The track follows independently-released tracks “Midwest Rock andamp; Roll” and “Go To Bed Sober” earlier this year. A full-length project is expected via Big Machine Records in 2025.
“I am incredibly excited to have a fresh start with everyone at Big Machine,” shares Hurd. “Having worked with the publishing team the past few years and seeing first-hand the care that this company has taken with my songs just makes me even more excited about this album coming out with this label. Thank you to Scott, Allison, Kris, Mike, Alex, and the entire team for believing in this project.”
