SR. MANAGER, ROYALTY AUDIT

Every day, BMG collects vast amounts of sales and usage data from all over the world. It is checked, then double-checked so our clients are paid fully, accurately, and on time.
Occasionally, BMG’s songwriter and recording artist clients contract with 3rd party auditors to review BMG’s royalty accountings. As Sr. Manager, Royalty Audit, you’ll act as BMG’s representative to those auditors. First and foremost, your day-to-day workings will align with BMG’s directive of fairness and transparency to its clients.
BMG’s Incoming Tracking andamp; Audit team has a 360° view of the music business and works closely with a wide remit of departments and foreign affiliate offices. As Sr. Manager, you will gain invaluable exposure into the workings of a global music business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Facilitating the entire royalty audit process for both songwriter and recording artist clients.
- Initiating preliminary internal research on the auditing client.
- Establishing clear and effective communication with external auditors following BMG’s inbound audit best practices.
- Compiling and providing reports and source documents.
- Collaborating with internal departments and foreign affiliates to address audit inquiries.
- Carefully reviewing and assessing audit report claims.
- Ensuring all components are addressed at the conclusion of an audit.
- Maintaining project statuses in BMG’s project tracking tool.
MUST HAVES
- Experience in royalty audit or accounting – music publishing and/or recorded royalty.
- Skills in analyzing music publishing and/or recorded royalty agreements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong data analysis abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to deep-dive and learn all aspects of BMG’s royalty accounting business – legal, copyright, royalties, income tracking, synchronization, licensing, etc.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a talent for effectively managing multiple concurrent projects.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a curious mindset.
Nice To Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in music business or other relevant field.
- Experience with SQL and/or Python.
- Familiarity with Google BigQuery, Looker, or respective equivalents.

Pay Range:
$75,000 – $82,000 per annum
