Bulldog DM, the world’s most experienced livestreaming company for premium content has partnered with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to help guide its efforts to create live video experiences in support of the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund and the organization’s advocacy efforts.
The partnership will allow NIVA access to Bulldog DM’s pioneering livestreaming best practices and position NIVA venues to engage brands, partners and sponsors with turnkey solutions to present must-see performances and live experiences from NIVA stages that in parallel allow fans to give back to independent venues while watching.
Formed at the onset of the COVID-19 shutdown, National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), now represents more than 2,900 members in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. These independent venues and promoters were the first to close and will be the last to fully reopen. NIVA's mission is to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live music venues, promoters and festivals throughout the United States. NIVA’s mission is to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live venues, promoters and festivals throughout the United States. Representing the lifeblood of the live and independent music industries, these independent venues and promoters were the first to close and will be the last to fully reopen. When asked if the shutdown lasts six months or longer and there is no meaningful federal support, 90% NIVA members said they would be forced to close forever.
“Independent venues’’ survival is without a doubt critical to the live music industry,” said Bulldog DM Founder and CEO John Petrocelli. “These cherished stages have served as the launchpad for the greatest acts in music history. Through our premium PPV service, Bulldog is partnering with brands and promoters to power beautifully produced concerts, festivals, collaborations, and experiences from NIVA stages." Bulldog DM has a 20 year track record in the space with a deep roster of clients that represent the world’s leading brand marketers.
“We’ve engaged Bulldog DM to help quickly scale a best-in-class livestreaming strategy to provide relief to our industry which is on the brink of collapse. Bulldog DM’s rich history in live music streaming was important in our decision as was their expertise in how to properly monetize live video. They fully understand the critical situation we face as independent venue operators and how important it is for us to create a strategy centered on generating donations through live content during our fight for survival,” said Stephen Sternschien, Treasurer of NIVA and co-owner of Austin TX’s Empire Garage, Empire Control Room and The Parish independent music venues.
Given the explosion of livestreaming since the onset of COVID-19, fan engagement with livestreams is higher than ever. Artists have begun to elevate their livestream performances as they move away from their bedrooms and living rooms, exploring ways to create higher quality livestream shows that fans would pay for. Bulldog DM and NIVA believe that NIVA stages create a perfect platform for such an evolving strategy.
“We're connecting members who are looking forward to live streaming with Bulldog DM, which will tie all of the technical elements together as we grow our collaborative effort in the coming months,” continued Sternschein. “Our venues have had no revenue so we’re intent on doing whatever we can to help them hold on as we await Congress to pass the Save Our Stages Act.”
