Celeste today shares her new single ‘There Will Come A Day’ (From The Original Motion Picture “The Color Purple”) via Polydor Records/Universal Music Canada. A stirring, jazz-tinged ballad that unfurls into a string-laden, soul-funk groove, ‘There Will Come A Day’ marks the beginning of an exciting new era for one of the biggest British stars to emerge in recent times.

‘There Will Come A Day’ features on the album “The Color Purple (Music From And Inspired By)”, which has been executive produced by Quincy Jones, Larry Jackson and Scott Sanders and is also released today (December 15th) via Gamma Records.

The album includes timeless classics from the The Color Purple musical alongside 16 newly penned songs steeped in culture and inspired by the rich tapestry of the film’s narrative. From love and pain to strength and redemption, these new songs capture the essence of “The Color Purple” while paving the way for a new musical era.

Celeste made the song with Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer DetoNate, aka Nathaniel Ledwidge whose credits include Labrinth, Sia, Diplo, Channel Tres, Diana Ross and more. The track was mixed by Beach Noise, renowned for their work with Kendrick Lamar.

‘The Color Purple’, a bold new version of the beloved classic film, is released in cinemas in the UK on 24th January.

Celeste is currently working on her hotly-anticipated second record, expected for release in 2024.
