“In a music landscape often saturated with predictable tunes and clichéd themes, charlieonnafriday offers a refreshing departure from the norm.” - LADYGUNN

charlieonnafriday, who has garnered almost 1 billion global streams with his string of irresistible releases since 2022, is back with a new single, “Somebody New,” available today via Island Records.  The bopping, hook-laden chorus gives new meaning to the rebound as Charlie lays it on the line: Cuz you running round with somebody new/ Mmh mmh mmh/ Takin’ shots of the hunnid proof/ Mmh mmh mmh/ Yeah tellin’ him we’re done andamp; we’re thru/ Mmh mmh mmh/ Yeah baby girl we both know the truth…”  LISTEN HERE.

Says Charlie, “’Somebody New’ is a simple but relatable song about love and heartache. It’s the universal experience of watching your ex date the same person they told you not to worry about, while having those lingering unanswered thoughts wondering if they still love and think about you.”

“Somebody New” follows up a string of 2022 singles including “I’m Not Crazy” (the interpolated take on “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty), and “Same Friends” featuring Lil Tjay. He’s also recently toured with powerhouses such as Tate McRae, Macklemore, and Jessie Murph.

The Seattle native, who turns 21 on February 21st, began his hot streak with the accidental success of first single “After Hours” which garnered over 200 million streams. He quickly continued his upward climb with “Enough,” surpassing “After Hours” with 220M streams; becoming a Top 20 single on Pop Radio in 2022. In the run-up to “Same Friends,” Charlie released “That’s What I Get,” a creative continuation of “Enough.”

charlieonnafriday, AKA Charlie Finch, documented his life during the pandemic and put unforgettable moments into music. Charlie continues to be a master of the genre bend, blending the best of pop, hip-hop, country and more. He is here to maximize his moment. He has a set vision for his music, brand, and message. “You only have so long to live here. Have fun, do it right; every day is a Friday.
