Today, Chase Bryant shares “Wild Than Tame,” the first preview of his forthcoming EP, Ashland City (arriving April 12th).

A cosmic meeting at a Christmas Party led him to have his own John Lennon/Paul McCartney-moment. Co-written by Bryant alongside two of his musical heroes Keith Gattis and Ray Wylie Hubbard, “Wild Than Tame” was a musical (and personal) dream come true for Bryant. The track tips its hat to his Texas roots, opening with a grunge that feels right out of an old Western movie before rolling right into full-on barn burner mode.

Ashland City — Bryant’s second EP of 2024 — was born in a house just Northwest of Nashville. It’s a compilation of tracks he recorded when he moved back to Nashville from Texas and wanted to do everything on his own, from the instrumentation to the engineering.

This EP is the second chapter of Bryant’s ambitious 2024 release plan. The EP follows January’s “sonic stunner” (People), Summerville. From his favorite childhood TX vacation spot (Cayo del Grullo), to a rural Alabama cabin (Clio), to his wife’s hometown (Summerville), each project boasts a unique sound to represent a different chapter in his life, showcasing his evolution as a prolific creator.

Praised for his resilience, commanding songwriting and just being “damn good” (Whiskey Riff), Bryant continues to bring forth music that’s an honest portrait of his life, which started with the 2021 release of his debut album Upbringing — and continues with the set of EPs he has slated for this year.

Ashland City Track List:

Wild Than Tame (Chase Bryant, Keith Gattis, Ray Wylie Hubbard)
Heart Ain’t A Hotel (Bryant, Wade Kirby)
Double Wide Dreamin’ (Bryant, John King, Sarah Turner)
Never Got Another To That (Bryant, Casey Beathard, Ryan Tyndell)
Tequila On The Rocks (Bryant, Ryan Beaver, Neil Medley)
Ashland City

Release date: April 12
