"I know all the reasons why I hold me back but no not today," Julietta croons on the chorus of her new single "Not Today." On the track, the LA based artist transforms self-doubt into an indie-pop power anthem about embracing an optimistic future.
"I know what rock bottom feels like, to be in the dungeons of my mind, I'm not scared of it, but I refuse to go back," Julietta says of the track.
"Not Today" comes off Julietta's forthcoming "Levitate" EP (out February 5th). Shedding her East Coast skin for a West Coast life, Julietta traded wild nights for hard working days, and left her battles with anxiety and depression for solitary reflection. With her "Levitate" EP, Julietta meditates her new-found freedom into six ethereal gems.

On the EP track "Ghosted For The Beach." Julietta muses about escaping the drudgery of everyday life for something fantastic as she coos over the song's disco beat, "all your life you have always waited for it, all your life you can't find a reason for it."
"Gotta Get Up" simmers with quiet intensity, anchored by an unshakeable beat and fuzzed out electric guitar, Julietta proclaims her free-flowing independence as she sings in a low growl, "I got plenty of friends, I don't need you to build me up or take my hand."
On the EP's title track "Levitate," Julietta let's go of the expectations of others and self-imposed expectations of herself in favor of creating her own narrative. "Say what you want to say, I'm a million miles away from what you want me to be," Julietta confidently croons over a pulsing beat.

Julietta's "Levitate" EP comes after her 2018 debut album Smooth Sailing. An accompanying Smooth Sailing (Remixed) record reimagines the album with the help of some of Julietta's friends, including SOFI TUKKER, Yeasayer, Smallpools, and Madge. To date, Julietta's amassed 6 million streams and her 2017 standout debut single "Beach Break" has achieved over 2 million listens. In addition, Julietta's music has been featured on Spotify's Viral 50, Indie Pop, and New Indie Mix playlists, to name a few. Last year Julietta landed syncs in the Apple+ show 'Little Voices' and in the TV trailers for 'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.'
