“Rocketeer,” the latest song from Church of Roswell—a new conceptual collective formed by singers, songwriters and musicians, Candi Carpenter and Josh Doyle—is out now on Studio 42 Records. Listen/share HERE.

Of the track, the collective shares, “It’s a bittersweet song that encompasses failed relationships, stalled dreams and existential dread but chooses to rise above it. It’s very 2020. It could either be us saying ‘this is life and I won’t let it bring me down’ or probably more accurately us trying to convince ourselves we can deal with it. I think people can identify with that.”

Produced by Peter Shurkin and Alden Witt and mixed by Ryan Hewitt (The Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile), “Rocketeer” was written by Carpenter, Doyle and Witt and recorded at The Carriage Works in Nashville. In addition to Carpenter (vocals) and Doyle (vocals, acoustic guitar), the song features Peter Levin (piano) as well as members of Jason Isbell’s acclaimed band, The 400 Unit: Derry deBorja (Hammond B3 organ), Chad Gamble (drums, percussion), Jimbo Hart (bass) and Sadler Vaden (electric guitar).

“Rocketeer” is the second track unveiled from Church of Roswell’s debut EP, which will be released next year. Additional details to be announced. Ahead of the release, the group’s lead single, “The Witcher,” premiered earlier this fall. Of the song, Riff Magazine praises, “finds the duo playing off of each other’s incredible vocal chops. The main riff bears repeating, but the song’s dynamics and atmosphere prove just as effective.”

Real band. Fake Cult. Join the Church Of Roswell and let their hook-laden melodies and freewheeling guitars take you through the clouds, into a world of introspection and raw honesty. Carpenter and Doyle’s unique vocal blend is captivating, as is the absurdist comedy world they’ve built on their social media, featuring alien conspiracies and a growing group of devoted followers.
