COJO Music / Warner Music Nashville Platinum recording artist Cody Johnson is set to release the first single, “The Painter, off a forth coming album due out later this year. The song can be Pre-Saved today (insert link) and will be available at all digital platforms on August 11. “The Painter,” written by Benjy Davis, Kat Higgins and Ryan Larkins and produced by Trent Willmon, will impact country radio on August 14.

“My favorite lyric in ‘The Painter’ is ‘for every wall I built, she saw a canvas.’ If there’s anything that describes my marriage with my wife, Brandi, it’s that line,” shared Cody. “And that’s why we’ve been together for 15 years.”

“I hope my fans are encouraged to take the time to appreciate the people they have around them. The ones who make their life beautiful and bring all the beautiful colors to their world when it could just be black and white and dark. Remember them and tell them you love them.”

“The Painter” is the follow up to Cody’s career-making, double platinum-selling and Grammy winning (“Country Song of The Year”) two-week #1 single “’Til You Can’t” and the Top 5 smash “Human” both included on his Human The Double album (October 2021).

Since that album debuted Cody’s career has skyrocketed bringing in 17 career RIAA certifications, a Pandora Billionaire Award and nearly 5 billion global streams. He released two additional projects, A Cody Johnson Christmas album and Cody Johnson andamp; The Rockin’ CJB Live and an award-winning feature-length documentary “Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story.” His numerous industry honors include recognition as a CMT Artist of The Year, three CMT Music Awards wins, two CMA Awards and being named “Best New Country Artist” at the iHeart Music Awards. His television appearances have entertained fans on the Today Show, the Kelly Clarkson Show and the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in addition to outstanding live tv performances at the iHeart Music Awards, the ACM Awards, CMT Giants honoring Vince Gill, and the CMT Artist of the Year Special. This spring, Cody’s stellar 2023 CMT Music Awards performances included hit “Human” and featured him as a lead vocalist on a show-stopping all-star tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd featuring a stacked lineup of music royalty including Cody, Billy Gibbons, Chuck Leavell, Paul Rodgers, Slash andamp; Warren Haynes, alongside LeAnn Rimes and Wynonna Judd. Just last month on the CMA Fest 2023 special Cody and Reba McEntire delivered a knock-out rendition of “Whoever’s in New England.”

Cody’s reputation as an electrifying performer continues to reign and has resulted in a long list of sold-out shows on his headline tours and he’s been selected as a special supporting guest on multiple stadium concerts with Zac Brown Band and Luke Combs. Cody heads to Australia this month on Luke Combs “World Tour.”
