‘Let The Devil In’ is the third single from Eddie Chacon’s new album Lay Low, out January 31st on Stones Throw. Ominous cinematic production by Nick Hakim is paired with moody, soulful vocals in a lament for the rapidly changing world we live in. Chacon says, “I was thinking about the speed that society is moving, with regard to diminishing attention span, lack of compassion, no longer being able to walk in someone else’s shoes or relate.”
Eddie Chacon is acclaimed for his thoughtful strain of RandB, musing on themes of mortality, failure, and growth. On Lay Low, his third solo album and second for Stones Throw, he delves into the grief that attended the loss of his mother, Patricia. The album was recorded over two years in Nick Hakim’s Brooklyn studio, with Hakim helping build an intuitive framework for Chacon’s songs of love and letting go.
Lay Low arrives at the end of this month. Eddie Chacon will celebrate Lay Low’s release with shows at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on February 1st, and at Public Records in Brooklyn on February 21st, with a tour of Europe in March.
