Client Acquisition Specialist (Publishing AandR)
Job Summary
As a client acquisition specialist at Elizabeth Music Group, your primary role is to identify, engage, and secure talented artists, songwriters, and producers for publishing administration agreements. The goal is to offer these creators a fair and creative-focused partnership that ensures they receive their due music royalties, often unclaimed or missing due to the complexities of the music industry.
Client acquisition specialists are able to work from home/remotely, create their own hours, and are paid commission on every administration client they sign to Elizabeth Music Group.
What You will Be Doing
Talent Scouting and Networking:
- Identify and connect with emerging and established music talents.
- Research through PRO and mechanical royalty databases to discover musicians who have unclaimed music publishing.
- Build and maintain relationships with artists, songwriters, producers, and their representatives to understand their needs and aspirations.
Educating Potential Clients:
- Explain the benefits of publishing administration agreements, emphasizing how the company’s services can help them collect unclaimed royalties.
- Provide insights into the often opaque and complicated royalty collection process, highlighting how the company’s expertise can simplify and optimize this for the creators.
- Elizabeth Music Group has an education first philosophy with all of our talent.
Client Onboarding and Support:
- Assist new clients with the onboarding process, ensuring they understand the company’s services and the steps involved in royalty collection.
- Provide ongoing support to help clients navigate any challenges and to maximize their creative and financial opportunities.
Maximize Royalty Collections:
- By signing clients to the company’s administration agreements, you ensure they receive all the royalties they are entitled to, including those that have previously gone unclaimed.
Foster Creative Growth:
- Support clients’ creative endeavors by offering a partnership that prioritizes their artistic vision and financial wellbeing.
Industry Influence:
- Position the company as a leading advocate for fair practices in the music industry, promoting a healthier ecosystem for all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: 1-3+ years of experience in music publishing, AandR, or a similar role within the music industry.
- Client Acquisition Experience: Proven track record in client acquisition or sales, especially within the music or entertainment industries.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Music Publishing: Deep understanding of music publishing, rights management, and the music industry landscape.
- Sales and Negotiation Skills: Strong salesmanship and the ability to negotiate contracts and deals effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, client needs, and business opportunities.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with the G-Suite Google software, music industry databases, and digital rights management tools.
