Play It Again Entertainment’s flagship artist and emerging singer-songwriter Walker Montgomery releases his new up-tempo feel-good single “Bad Day To Be A Beer” today across all digital service providers. The song, written by Dallas Davidson, Brock Berryhill, Ray Fulcher and Cole Taylor, is the first single from a collection of new music expected next year.
“‘Bad Day To Be A Beer’ is the perfect song for having a good time, hanging out with good people, and having a good, cold beer,” says Montgomery. “Whatever you're doing, it's a good day to do it, but it's a bad day to be a beer. It's amazing how the simple things in life can be so good when you put them together in a song. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Multi-award winning songwriter and Play It Again Entertainment’s founder Dallas Davidson, says “Country music fans know immediately if you're the real deal or not. When Walker sings a song, you believe it. He’s believable. We know that Walker has what it takes to be a superstar.”
“Walker knows who he is and the kind of artist he wants to be,” said Ryan Dokke, CEO, Play It Again Entertainment. “His music reflects both of these things. In a world where being authentic matters, Walker Montgomery is as authentic as they come.”
“Bad Day To Be A Beer” follows on the heels of Play It Again Entertainment’s releases of “Saving For A Rainy Night” and “Like My Daddy Done It” which he released earlier this year. In 2018, Montgomery released a debut EP, Simple Town, which he released independently and has already hit 9 million streams (including 4 million streams for the EPs title track). The rising singer-songwriter, prior to the COVID pandemic, has also been busy building a fan base on the road with 100+ paid shows a year.
Montgomery’s new music is produced by the multi-award-winning No. 1 hit songwriters The Peach Pickers (Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip) who have a combined 73 No. 1 songs between them and multiple songwriting awards.
Walker Montgomery is a rising singer/songwriter who knows a thing or two about family tradition, but he’s an artist making his own legacy. The 21-year-old son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery, the emerging star was raised away from the spotlight in Nicholasville, Kentucky. But now that he’s found that spotlight on his own, Montgomery’s pedigree is matched only by his country passion. Signed to Play It Again Entertainment and produced by the multi-award-winning chart-topping team known to the world as The Peach Pickers – Dallas Davidson (26 career No. 1's); Ben Hayslip (16 career No. 1's; four-time CMA Triple Play Award winner); and Rhett Akins (31 career No. 1's) – he’s already put his classically-inspired, honey-bourbon vocal to use on a self-penned hit debut (“Simple Town,” over 4 Million Spotify streams). A pair of story-building singles followed – the high-energy “Like My Daddy Done It” and passionate “Saving For A Rainy Night” – and there’s more on the way. Montgomery and his team have already logged countless hours in the studio, as the breakout talent works to hone his lyrical honesty and integrity, plus a lived-in sound that brings country’s past into the present tense. “I want my music to stand the test of time and connect with people no matter who they are,” he says. “I learned from my family that the way you do that is by being true to yourself, and that’s the reason I’m here. That’s the reason I get up every day and do what I do – to help take care of the family name, and make them proud.”
