Indie rock five-piece powerhouse flipturn have shared new single “Juno” the latest offering from their forthcoming album Burnout Days, out January 24 via Dualtone Records. Filled with their distinctive “irresistible hooks” (Consequence) and "next-level melodies" (Brooklyn Vegan), the new track is a reflection on the duality of the band’s adventures on the road versus the reality of grinding it out.

Watch the music video for “Juno” which offers a playful take on flipturn’s touring chronicles - from gas station pit-stops, green room hangs, a broken down tour bus and back-to-back gigs - here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHayQOl9zzg

“Lyrically, we wanted to tell a story about what life can feel like traveling the country as a band in a transit van. Our van Pegasus, ‘Peggy’ for short, became the closest thing to home we had when touring. A lot of our family and friends for years would assume that the rockstar lifestyle was how they saw it in movies or pop culture but in reality it is a much different experience. ‘Juno’ is meant to highlight the toxic positivity that I think we’ve all experienced when we feel like we need to tell our friends and family ‘we’re living the dream’ when we are still very much chasing the dream,” says Mitch Fountain (guitar, synthesizer).

Propelled by pulsating synths adorned with lush, ethereal textures, “Juno” was the result of an unexpected mishap during a band songwriting retreat. The song's distinctive opening riff emerged when Fountain accidentally dropped his Juno (JU-06A) synthesizer, producing an intriguing sound that immediately captured the band’s attention. “It somehow created a brand new patch and a sound that everyone loved,” says Fountain. “We loved it so much that it instantly turned into the opening riff of the song.”

Juno” comes on the heels of flipturn announcing their 2025 coast-to-coast US headline tour, which will find the group pushing into their largest venues yet, with a full list of dates below. They just wrapped two weekends at Austin City Limits (with the Austin American Statesman highlighting flipturn’s set as must-see critics’ pick), and performances at All Things Go and Ohana Fest (“one of the grooviest and upbeat sets of the entire day” according to mxdwn) before heading to Europe sold-out shows in London. Last month, flipturn shared single “Rodeo Clown” - which Consequence praised for its “pleasantly warbling vocals from Dillon Basse against the backdrop of irresistible hooks.”

Burnout Days is inspired by the band’s journey on the road, as they sort through challenges like self-esteem, codependency, addiction and the twists and turns of day-to-day life in one’s mid-twenties.The new album arrives on the other side of the band’s debut Shadowglow, which found flipturn sharing stages with Two Door Cinema Club, The Revivalists, Mt. Joy, Goth Babe and Rainbow Kitten Surprise - a culmination of years of hard work for the five-piece: Basse, Tristan Duncan (lead guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass, backing vocals), Mitch Fountain (synth, guitar), and Devon VonBalson (drums). Formed in the small coastal town of Fernandina Beach, FL, flipturn first came together in high school, where they worked passionately to turn garage meet-ups into playing college house shows into headlining sold-out dates for thousands and performing across continents.
