Gavin DeGraw is revisiting his roots with "Chariot 20," a newly reimagined edition of his debut album, set for release on September 27. In a heartfelt message to his fans, DeGraw reflected on the impact of his first album, stating, "As an artist, you fight your entire life to get to that first album. Chariot changed everything for me. It opened the doors to touring the world, meeting my heroes, and spending my life making music. But most importantly, it introduced me to all of you. For that, I'm forever grateful. In the two decades since that first album, we've grown together, we've sung and danced together, and we've shared memories and stories, creating a community connected by the greatest unifier of all, in my opinion, which is music."
Originally launched in 2003 under J Records, where Clive Davis signed DeGraw in 2002, "Chariot" has become a cultural milestone. The album, which cemented DeGraw's status as a remarkable vocal talent and future Grammy nominee, features the double-Platinum, Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit "I Don't Want to Be," recently named one of the Best Songs of 2004. Additionally, the Gold-certified "Follow Through" and the Platinum-selling title track "Chariot" both achieved significant chart success. The refreshed version of "Chariot" will be available on June 28.
This updated album sees DeGraw collaborating once again with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, who also produced DeGraw's well-received 2022 album "Face The River." The new edition includes two previously unreleased tracks from the original "Chariot" sessions: "Get Lost" and "Love Is Stronger (Alright)."
DeGraw recently concluded the first segment of his 2024 WORLD TOUR and will resume with European dates later this year.
