“I’ve heard it said that music is therapy for some people… that it can transport you to a place in time or a memory, and I’ve always found that to be magical,” says Davis. “Whether it’s the story, the feeling that the rhythm sends through you or the emotions that you feel when the lyrics hit home, a song can be truly powerful.
“Daisies” features barn-burning instrumentation and highlights Davis’ tenacious baritone as he sings of the road from heartbreak to eternal love. Davis co-wrote the track alongside songwriting veterans Dan Agee (Logan Mize, Jessie James Decker) and Josh London (Drake Milligan, Joe Nichols), and it was produced by Agee.
“‘Daisies’ reminds me of one of the happiest moments in my life — the moment me and my wife found out we were pregnant with a beautiful baby girl. We worked so hard and battled for so long to get to her and like a Daisy growing through a crack in the sidewalk, there she was.”
“This song was meant to celebrate baby Ella, and even though we lost our sweet babygirl, we don’t want the beauty and hope this song inspired in us to fade,” he continues. “God has a plan and I’m a firm believer in his plan. I want ‘Daisies’ to be a means of celebrating our baby girl and spreading love and joy to the world. I’ll hold you longer than forever, until we finally meet in heaven babygirl. Daddy loves you.”
The rising country artist has built a strong presence on social media thanks to his impromptu music performances and heartwarming family content, amassing more than 18 million likes on TikTok alone. He’ll share more new music throughout 2024.
