OVERVIEW
Hipgnosis Song Management Ltd requires a Financial Planning andamp; Analysis Manager to join the finance team in London reporting directly to the VP of Financial Controlling and Reporting.
Hipgnosis Song Management is the investment adviser to Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited – a high-growth FTSE 250 business and Hipgnosis Songs Capital – a partnership between Hipgnosis Song Management and funds managed by Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager.
The candidate must be adaptable and highly self-motivated. The candidate will be pro-active, professional, resilient and have a positive attitude.
The finance team works with numerous internal and external stakeholders, so liaising with other teams and third parties will be a major part of the role. Therefore, an ability to communicate effectively and maintain key relationships is imperative.
Due to the specialised asset class, music royalties experience is required. Data management, Tableau and BI are major aspects of this role.
JOB DUTIES
Performance Tracking and Providing Insight:
- Initiation and implementation of new processes to provide more in-depth analysis of business performance, including analysing market analysis of macro and micro trends and business performance against these trends.
- Work closely with the Revenue Assurance team to accurately forecast revenue, produce analysis and commentary on variances against this forecast.
- Preparation of portfolio reporting for Catalogues managed by each fund.
- Working closely with the Investment Team on providing insights and data points on Catalogue andamp; song trends for inclusion in their underwriting.
- Analysing portfolio valuation reports to identify trends in their forecasts and valuations.
Financial Planning:
- Production and review of annual IFRS budgets and quarterly reforecasts
- Produce analysis and commentary on the monthly management accounts on performance against budget
- Produce analysis and commentary for publication in the Interim and Annual Reports of Hipgnosis Songs Fund
- Limited, prepare market guidance and work closely with Investor Relations on messaging to analysts and investors.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in working collaboratively with other teams in the business
- Experience in supporting multiple stakeholders
- Ability to compile presentations of complex financial information to non-finance or numerate professionals.
- Work to the highest standard in accuracy and sophistication of insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident in presenting to senior levels of management internally and externally including being able to answer questions and think on their feet.
- Previous experience in a Financial Planning andamp; Data Analysis role
- Music experience required
- BI experience required (e.g. Power BI/ Tableau)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel andamp; modelling skills
- Pro-active, professional, resilient and a positive attitude required
- The ideal candidate would have a 2.1 in a science, mathematics, or similar degree
- Additional relevant specialist qualifications and credentials desired
