Jeremie Albino has returned today with “Our Time In Sun,” a gripping heartbreak ballad that showcases his unique ability to “put everyone in the room at ease and bring people together with his music”- as it’s been described by close collaborator Dan Auerbach. Drawing from his lifelong love of artists like Irma Thomas and George Jackson, Albino fuses emotionally-nuanced storytelling with a top-tier band anchored by Auerbach on guitar, along with Tom Bukovac (5x MusicRow Guitarist of the Year) and Little Barrie’s Barrie Cadogan, The Dap-Kings’ Tommy Brenneck on bass and The Heliocentrics’ Malcolm Catto on drums. In the accompanying “Our Time In The Sun” music video, Albino’s instantly-captivating live performances are put on full display; a skill he honed while busking (both in his native Toronto and across Europe) before eventually sharing stages with Orville Peck, St. Paul andamp; The Broken Bones, Sierra Ferrell and many more.

Jeremie Albino on “Our Time In The Sun”: “One of my favorite songs in the world is ‘I Wish Someone Would Care.’ It’s such a strong and simple ballad. When Dan and I got together to write songs for the record, I had that in mind—trying to write a ballad with that feeling of heartache. It’s simple but hard-hitting. It turned out to be my favorite song on the record, just one of those love and heartache songs I’ve always wanted to write. The band really took the song and cooked with it right out of the gate, just grooving and feeling good. It made it so easy to pour my heart into this performance.”
Albino’s Easy Eye Sound debut is the culmination of a remarkable journey beginning on a farm in rural Ontario. During his years of slinging veggies at farmers markets around Toronto, Albino sparked a love for performing as his live shows grew from passersby on the street to packed rooms. As for Auerbach, he produced this new collection after a chance encounter with Albino’s music online that left him mesmerized. With his guidance, and assists from some of Nashville’s finest songwriter-musicians — including Pat McLaughlin (John Prine, Charley Crocket), Joe Allen (Aaron Frazer, John Anderson ) and Bobby Wood (Marcus King, Dusty Springfield) — Albino hones his sensibilities into sharp, observant tales of love gone sour, struggling with the bottle, and a life defined by work. Albino will tour Our Time In The Sun throughout 2024 and 2025, with a full list of tour dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
