Breakout Nashville artist Jobi Riccio (one of NPR’s Favorite New Musicians of 2023) has earned a nomination for the Americana Music Association’s 2024 Americana Honors and Awards in the category of Emerging Artist of the Year, following the release of her “incisive debut” (NYT) Whiplash late last year.

Riccio has also announced a handful of dates this Spring/Summer including a string of east coast shows with Margo Cilker, a supporting date with Lucinda Williams in San Francisco, and her debut appearance at Bonnaroo. The dates follow a previously-announced east coast run with Brandy Clark, which she recently kicked off with stops at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre and Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, and a Midwest tour with The Wood Brothers which wrapped last month. Just last week, Riccio also opened for 4x Grammy Winner Jason Isbell andamp; The 400 Unit at The Astro in LA Vista. Later this summer, Riccio will be returning to Newport Folk Festival, where she was honored with The John Prine Songwriters Fellowship Award last year.

Following the release of her debut album Whiplash in SeptemberRiccio has since made her national TV debut on CBS Saturday Morning, earned invitations to tour with Willi Carlile, and Molly Tuttle, was selected as a Luck Reunion Southwest Artist On The Rise finalist, and garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, NPR Music, Stereogum, Billboard, The Tennessean, MOJO and more.

Whiplash - written over the course of several formative and tumultuous years in Riccio’s late teens and early twenties - effortlessly melds classic folk and country sounds with indie and atmospheric production. From the bittersweet album opener “Summer” to the jazz-infused album closer “One Last Time,” each song is a revelatory, coming-of-age story about change, healing, growth, and self-love.
