Assistant, Business Affairs, New York
We are looking for a bright, detail-oriented and organized administrative assistant to support our Business Affairs department in our New York office. This person will have the opportunity to learn the legal aspects of the music business and liaise with many other departments within Kobalt Music Group.
To be successful in this role, you will need a high level of organizational skills and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges. This is an exciting opportunity with scope to grow in a close-knit and supportive global team.
WHAT DOES A BUSINESS AFFAIRS ASSISTANT AT KOBALT DO?
- You provide administrative support to the US Business Affairs team including: tracking deals, preparing and processing agreements for signature, creating deal summaries, drafting correspondence, filing, scheduling meetings, etc.
- You input deal status information into the SalesForce system andamp; access such information as needed.
- You raise purchase orders and track payments as necessary.
- You maintain and update various departmental spreadsheets, calendars and databases for the Business Affairs team.
- You create and submit expense reports.
- You draft letters of direction, NDAs and other routine legal documents, as requested.
- You perform other general office duties and special projects, as requested by members of the BA team.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- You have working experience in a similar role with an ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities and deal with demanding workloads.
- You have strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs required and ability to learn new programs quickly.
- You have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and can maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- You have a high level of attention to detail as well as organizational skill and are comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume andamp; evolving environment where working overtime may be necessary from time to time.
- A keen interest as well as knowledge of music publishing and the music business strongly preferred.
