Today, quadruple-Platinum, JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter Preston Pablo begins his next chapter with the release of the new single “One Last Song” via 31 East/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. There has been an overwhelming fan demand for the track ever since Preston began sharing teasers online in recent weeks, garnering over 109K social views across platforms. Listen HERE.
The new single, produced by Banx andamp; Ranx, Ruffsound, and RealMind, captures a poignant moment. Preston explains, “This song represents a moment of hopelessness. It’s a bittersweet realization that something isn’t working between two people. Instead of dwelling on the sadness of the situation, it focuses on one last moment of happiness before letting go.”
He adds, “This song came together quickly because it was coming from a very real place at the time. It’s not meant to make someone feel sad, which is why it sounds up-tempo and bright. The message is there, but I still want people to dance to it. If anything, I would want it to offer a sense of relief. I’m excited for it to be out and for people to make it their own.”
“One Last Song” directly follows the virality of Preston’s latest single “Dance Alone,” which crossed international borders and included remixes from Colombian singer-songwriter Juliana, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Qing Madi and Nonso Amadi. “Dance Alone” has enjoyed extended success at Canadian radio, peaking at #5 at AC, #6 at Hot AC, at #9 at Top 40. Upon its release, it was the #1 most added overall and #1 most added to Top 40 radio in Canada. The track has a total of 718K creates and 480M views on TikTok. Across his catalogue, Preston has achieved over 905M views on TikTok.
Preston started 2024 by touring with Jon Vinyl across the U.S. and working on new music with top producers like Banx andamp; Ranx, Rico Love, Ikky, Jamal Europe, and more. One of the youngest artists to emerge in the Canadian music scene, the RandB/pop star received the JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2023. That same year, he featured on “Admirin’ You,” a single with JUNO Fan Choice Award winner Karan Aujla, which was part of the highest charting Punjabi album in Canadian history.
“Flowers Need Rain” ushered in this major moment for Preston. The multi-Platinum single peaked at #1 on the Shazam chart in Canada and reached #1 at Canadian AC radio. It currently has over 172 million global streams that continue to grow to this day. This led to Preston being honoured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in Canada, and brand collaborations with Rockstar Energy, Taco Bell, OLG, and more. Along the way, Preston has supported artists including Lewis Capaldi and NF during Canadian tour stops.
Following his breakthrough success, Preston is embarking on a new chapter by focusing on crafting soulful songs and collaborating with the right people, creating music that brings him happiness beyond traditional genre boundaries. “One Last Song” is about discovering who he really is as a person and intentionally reflecting on his behaviours while in a relationship.
Stay tuned for much more to come from Preston Pablo.
