Norwegian punks LÜT return with their thumping new single 'Strictly Business', released today, 14th October 2020 via Indie Recordings. The track is the most recent single from the band's forthcoming album Mersmak, due for release on 8th January 2021, and is a downright romp through the raucous punk rock of yesteryear, something we could all use a little more of these days.

The band have also released their video for previous single 'VIEPÅ'. Premiered via Distorted Sound, you can watch 'VIEPÅ' HERE

'Strictly Business' is a track full of power and drive - a fast-paced hymn to energy, showcasing LÜT's most punk side. With this shot of aural dopamine, the band comment:

"'Strictly Business' is one of our most honest (but at the same time a pretty not serious) song. The song is about how happy the people around us really should be to be apart of our lives. It's mainly about tiny little stupid things we're annoyed about with these people; Moms, the girls in the pub who doesn't like us back, or even stupid things our bandmates do. The song was originally written for a Christmas-themed tv-commercial, so you can try picturing that...!"

The singles continue the band's no-holds-barred, no-frills approach to modern rock as seen in previous tracks, 'Homme Fatale', 'LÜTetro', 'We Will Save Scandirock' and 'Mersmak', the title-track from LÜT's forthcoming LP. 'LÜTetro' was featured on Kerrang!'s "5 Songs You Need To Hear" and enjoyed international radio airplay and recognition, and exciting playlist placements.

Mersmak roughly translates as 'Taste for more / Wanting more', a fitting title for this infectiously raucous group. Elements of Turbonegro, Blood Command, Kvelertak and more combine to exhilarating and beguiling effect, and cements the band's rising status as ones to watch following their critically acclaimed debut Pandion (2017).

Ever since their foundation, LÜT have been a band that have captivated rock audiences, making a name for themselves in Norway. With their debut album, LÜT were nominated for 'New Band of the Year' in both the Norwegian Grammys Spellemannprisen and the Norwegian Radio award show P3 Gull. They have also found a fan in Lars Ulrich, who praised them on his podcast 'It’s Electric'. The band have also recently played at Summer Breeze Open Air, Reeperbahn, Øya and Tons Of Rock, as well as several other Norwegian festivals.

"We went through highs and lows writing this album, and it was definitely a learning process which made the band stronger as a whole. As such; making this album has been a type of contemplation. We’re excited to have finished the ‘difficult second album’ and couldn’t have hoped for a better result. It’s great to finally be able to show the world what we’ve been working on,” says vocalist Markus Danjord.

The band have made some changes to the line-up in the last year, as guitarist Mads Ystmark (Heave Blood and Die) has replaced former members Hans Marius Mikkelsen and Viljar Ratama Dunderovic. Following this change, LÜT spent months in Norway and abroad, finishing their second album.

Mersmak was mixed by Mike Schuppan (Paramore, M83, Jimmy Eat World), mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Converge, Kyle Dixon andamp; Michael Stein Stranger Things Soundtracks), and recorded in Giske and Tromsø, Norway, and Bronson Island in Los Angeles, USA.
