Today, rising pop star Sofia Camara releases her latest new single, “Do You Love Me” via 21 Entertainment and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The contemplative ballad has been a staple of her live set for weeks, and today’s official release marks her third new track of the year. It directly follows her collaboration with Portuguese star Fernando Daniel, “Myself,” and her viral hit record “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)” which has amassed over 16.6 million global streams across platforms.

“Do You Love Me” is produced by Herag Sanbalian (Nelly Furtado, Alessia Cara) and co-written by Sofia Camara, Herag Sanbalian, Nate Ferraro (Beyoncé), and David Charles Fischer (Rebecca Black, ELIO). The track follows a relationship with one lover attempting to put a label on their connection.
“I’m giving my whole heart,” sings Sofia. “But you’re only giving half of yours… I’ve been trying to figure it out, do you love me?” She continues, “You say we’re friends then call me at 2AM, can’t get you out of my head.”
About the new release, Sofia Camara says, “I wrote ‘Do You Love Me’ in 2022 which feels like forever ago, but I will always remember the feeling I had while making it. I was in a ‘situationship’ at the time, and it was such a mind-game of trying to figure out if this person truly loved me or not… I was stuck in my head for months. Love is such a crazy thing and being in this middle place of trying to figure out if something or someone is genuine can be such a beautiful, yet painful process and I was so glad to capture that in this song.”
“Do You Love Me” marks the latest in a prolific string of new releases for Sofia Camara, which will continue throughout the year. It follows the breakthrough success of “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)” which opened doors across the globe for the 21-year-old Portuguese Canadian vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, who notably headlined her first international live shows in London and Amsterdam last month. Sofia also supported Canadian pop icon Shawn Desman across his national tour this year, and performed at the International Portuguese Music Awards, where she was nominated for Best New Talent.
She also recently shared a viral cover of Maroon 5’s “Payphone,” which amassed over 5.5 million views across platforms. Her covers of Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know” and Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” have picked up hundreds of thousands of views in recent weeks.
Sofia Camara’s debut single backed by Universal Music Canada and 21 Entertainment, “Never Be Yours,” was released in 2022 and was a success story at Canadian radio, peaking at #19 on the Top 40 charts, and reaching #22 and #34 on the Hot AC and Main AC charts respectively. She was highlighted as iHeartRadio’s Future Star in February and March 2023.
