The Texas Heritage Music Foundation is proud to kick off this season of Thanksgiving with two livestream performances by Stephanie Urbina Jones and the Honky Tonk Mariachi.   The first one-hour show will be streamed on both Urbina Jones and the Texas Heritage Music Foundation's Facebook pages on Thursday, Nov. 19  at 8 p.m. CT and will honor the classics of country music.  The second hour-long show entitled, "Feliz Navidad Y’all," will stream on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. CT, bringing in the Christmas spirit.  Both shows were safely and creatively filmed at the Rockbox Theater in Fredericksburg, TX.

The event is being presented by the Texas Heritage Music Foundation, and will also air live on its Facebook page. The organization was founded in 1987 to preserve and perpetuate the traditions of Texas music; to examine the background and trace influences and patterns in the music; and also document the role Texas music has played in society and provide free educational programming to the Texas community.

A special guest will join Urbina Jones  for her Thanksgiving show--author and founder of the Texas Heritage Music Foundation, Dr. Kathleen Hudson. Her latest book, Corazón Abierto: Mexican American Voices in Texas Music (publisher: Texas AandM University Press), provides a wide view of the myriad contributions Mexican-American artists have made to music in Texas and the United States, and features interviews with Urbina Jones and her bandmates in The Texicana Mamas -- Tish Hinojosa and Patricia Vonne.

Additionally, Stephanie Urbina Jones and the Honky Tonk Mariachi are proud members of the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Texas Touring Roster. TCA has also lent its support to the streaming event.  Audio and Livestream Producer is Jeremy Parker of Musical Services Group

Blazing trails from Texas to Mexico, Urbina Jones and her history-making Honky Tonk Mariachi are telling a new story in American music, blowing hearts and minds wide open with their mix of classic country rock with a twang, and the intoxicating, joy-filled sounds of Mexico. This new style, fondly called 'country music with chili peppers,' is inspiring and building bridges. From the first gritos to the last yee-haws, from their history making performances on the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry to the two-stepping dance halls of Texas to festivals around the world, Urbina Jones and her fiesta platter of love (percussion, trumpets, violins, vihuelas, guitarróns, guitars y mas) are sharing culture, stories, and songs that bring people together. Urbina Jones tours internationally, having performed in fourteen countries, including appearances at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, Magic Town Music Fest in Mexico, Festival Country Rendezvous in France, Country Gold in Japan, Gstaad Festival in Switzerland and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Fest in Scotland; plus the CMA Music Festival, Americana Music Festival, Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic, and performances on the Grand Ole Opry. Urbina Jones is a Kerrville New Folk Finalist, #1 Texas Country Artist, and #1 Billboard Country Songwriter.
