2x-Grammy nominated, multi-platinum artist, producer and DJ Steve Aoki, has joined forces with chart-topping international sensation JJ Lin to create a stellar new track that energizes and motivates to never give up on the hustle, aptly titled “The Show.” The single is the first release from FLUXGEN, a new partnership between Steve Aoki and 88rising, the pioneering music company representing the best of Asian talent. Supported by the unique identity of 88rising and Steve Aoki, FLUXGEN is a space encouraging invention, experimentation and unexpected sounds working in tandem. Including recorded music, live events and more, this genre-bending space serves as a platform for collaboration. One that challenges the traditional notion of a record label.

In the essence of the phrase “the show must go on,” the Singaporean triple threat singer-songwriter, record producer and multi hyphenate entrepreneur JJ Lin sings on “The Show” of powering through hard times with the lyrics, “Guess I’m getting on with the show,” which is paired with a pounding beat and anthemic rise in Aoki’s signature style that always brings the crowd to their feet.

“The Show” arrives with a colorful music video filmed in JJ Lin’s home country of Singapore, and directed by Edgar Estevez (Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Doja Cat, Wiz Khalifa) and Jon Primo of Blank Square. In the video, Aoki and JJ Lin find themselves amid an array of dancers and glowing visuals inspired by the vibrancy of Singapore. The video ends with a fireworks finish above the Singapore skyline, boasting the ultimate party vibe. The jellyfish seen in the video were also designed based on the jellyfish of the legendary S.E.A Aquarium. Several scenes used AI-generated textures which were created using Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

Steve Aoki shares, “Music has the power to unite us, to inspire us, and to ignite our passion. 'The Show' is a testament to the relentless spirit of chasing our dreams and never giving up. Together with JJ Lin for our second collaboration, we've created a sonic experience that pulsates with energy and resonates with the desire to keep pushing forward. Get ready to embrace the spotlight and let the music take you on a journey you won't forget."

JJ Lin says, “Working with Steve is always so fun and easy, it’s like being in a ring with him where we exchange punches each time. First time he drops me a crazy remix for my single ‘Not Tonight,’ and this time I lend my vocals in ‘The Show.’ It’s a song that coincides with my 20 years since debut, and talks about the ups and downs of being in show biz, and finding strength to keep true to one’s heart in this complicated world. Every time I work on an English number, it’s such a fresh experience, I would say, keep the collabs coming! I’m also excited that we are featuring the retro-futuristic version of my hometown, Singapore, into the visuals for the music video.”

JJ Lin has created a name for himself through years of powerful live shows and engaging performances that generated a dedicated international following. His popularity soared throughout Asia with his consistent release of award-winning chart toppers throughout his illustrious career of 20 years, making him one of the most sought-after artists worldwide.

Coined “The Walking CD” by netizens for his incredible live performance and expansive vocal range, JJ has completed 136 tour stops and clocked over 100 million views for his virtual concerts. The best-selling Chinese act has accumulated an impressive 120 billion streams on major music platforms worldwide. He also broke new frontiers as the top Asian artist (5th in the global ranks) in the Global Concert Pulse ranks in 2023. Meanwhile, Steve Aoki, who centers every one of his artistic endeavors on creativity and community, is likewise known for his relentless touring and global following, taking the stage more nights of the year than not. He is also a Guiness World Record holder, as the “Most Traveled Musician in One Year,” a title he’s held since 2012. Together on “The Show,” their energy is palpable and the track sounds as though it’s direct from the front row of the stage.
