GRAMMY-nominated singer, composer, and symphonic pop artist extraordinaire Cody Fry has released his Acoustic Sessions EP via Decca Records US. The five-track digital EP features acoustic renditions of songs from Fry’s 2023 album The End, plus some favorites from his catalog. The tracks are accompanied by music videos captured during Fry’s acoustic performance session in Nashville, where he recorded the EP with a cast of talented musical friends. Listen to the Acoustic Sessions EP HERE and watch the first of the videos, for “If Only My Heart Could Speak,” HERE.

Recorded in a stripped-back, intimate group setting, Fry’s Acoustic Sessions EP is a remarkable showcase of his ability to reinvent music from his catalog. Notably, a rework of his track “Things You Said,” originally from The End, is featured on the EP; the acoustic rendition arrives on the heels of the song’s massive virality in Asia. “Things You Said” was the #1 Most-Shazamed Song and #1 International UMG Track in China, smashing records for Cody as it continues to grow across the continent.

The EP features three tracks from The End, which was composed and arranged entirely by Cody and featured some of his most vulnerable lyrics to date. After his first experiences with panic attacks and anxiety in 2020, Cody had to step back and reflect on his mental health. The End represents the culmination of not only his creative evolution, but also his personal journey so far and exploring themes such as mental health and change.

After graduating from Belmont University in Nashville, gigs with the likes of Ben Rector and Hunter Hayes, and countless compositions for film, television, technology, video games, and fashion, Cody attracted a devout audience. During 2021, his song “I Hear A Symphony” soared to the forefront of popular culture, surging to unprecedented virality on TikTok. It eventually eclipsed 200 million global streams and counting, hitting #1 on the Billboard Classical Tracks chart and becoming a Certified Gold Single in the U.S. and Canada. On its heels, he reimagined The Beatles classic “Eleanor Rigby,” garnering a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals” with over 50M streams and hitting #1 on the Billboard classical tracks chart.
