Terry grew up in a small town called Detroit Lakes, MN.
Music has been a part of Terry's life since he could remember. A lot of family members back then would sing here and there but nobody took Terry under there wing like his grandma. His grandma, Viola Seward would play her guitar and sing every day and was a huge inspiration growing up. When Terry decided he wanted to learn how to play guitar, Viola showed him three chords and that was all it took. Terry always visited his grandma, and when school was out for the summer he went to stay with her to help out and work the family farm. She always told him he had a God-given gift to entertain people, but Terry never really understood what she saw in him.
As years passed by Terry started singing a lot more around the house. He remembers one time when he took a bunch of rolled up socks and made a front stage area out of them. He then stood back and played Smoky Mountain Rain by Ronnie Milsap over and over again and pretend he was singing to a live crowd. Fast-forward to 2020 and Terry is quietly becoming an independent country artist. He still can't believe that songs he wrote are actually being played all over the world, and that people enjoy his songs.
When he looks at his Spotify he still can't believe all the streams he his songs have gotten. Terry states when he writes a song, it's how he is feeling in the that moment. It could be a up-tempo Modern Country Song, or a Slow Song that really doesn't sound like a Mainstream Radio Song but it is a great Wedding Song you would find randomly on YouTube, or maybe even a song that is more like todays Pop Country. It really does come down to what he is feeling that day. His Grandma new he would be in the spotlight someday and Terry Says he is living his and his Grandmas dream everyday. His Grandma was his inspiration and now he is living the dream his Grandma always new he would do. Terry Mackner's NEW Single is coming out October 28th called "Let's Be Lazy".
