The Role
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of MRG Live Marketing, the Junior Marketing Manager will be joining a team of motivated marketing professionals who oversee all aspects of building and executing marketing campaigns for live shows in British Columbia, across Canada, and beyond!
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain marketing campaigns for your assigned shows, acting as the point person between artist management and internal teams, responsible for all marketing material coordination and delivery.
- Control marketing budgets related to your assigned shows.
- Coordinate advertising initiatives for all assigned shows, and assist with publicity strategies, and local community outreach, as required.
- Use data and insights to identify marketing opportunities and guide decision making, while also bringing new creative marketing ideas to each campaign.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with artist management teams, with a focus on clear, effective, timely, and professional communication.
- Work with both internal and external talent buying teams to align on priorities and maintain open channels of communication throughout show lifecycles.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal content marketing team, creative team, internal and external venue contacts, and external media partners.
- Go to shows! We require the person in this role to regularly attend live shows, acting as an on the ground representative for MRG Live, and also assist in capturing live show content for our MRG Live social media team when required.
- Assist as required with the printing of and delivery of marketing materials to local venues.
- Identify and act on opportunities for cross-promotion and collaboration between business units within The MRG Group.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Previous experience in marketing or the concert industry.
- An understanding of advertising principles and marketing trends.
- Proven ability to listen, understand and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships.
- Ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative.
- Incredible attention to detail and the ability to analyze, prioritize and collaborate on a daily basis.
- Excited to work as part of a team environment.
- A creative thinker and self-starter.
- A positive, winning attitude, incorporating integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
- Campaign management experience required.
- Experience within the entertainment or experience industry is preferred.
- Experience with and an understanding of ad buying platforms and trends is preferred.
- Experience within the ticketed event space is preferred.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, as required.
- A passion for live events and music.
