The Velveteers return next year with their “monstrous sound” (Under The Radar) on A Million Knives, the Denver trio’s new album out February 14, 2025. Led by tour-de-force frontwoman Demi Demitro, behind dual drummers Baby Pottersmith and Jonny Fig on a conjoined kit, the thirteen song collection finds The Velveteers collaborating with GRAMMY-winning producer and The Black Keys lead singer Dan Auerbach to spotlight their “high-energy scrappy attitude and pure rock and roll” (as hometown alt-weekly, and longtime champions, Westword have deemed them). "They just sound so powerful, they're amazing live, there's nothing like them,” added Auerbach, who will also release A Million Knives on his record label Easy Eye Sound.

Out today is new single “Go Fly Away,” an alt-pop ode to escapism that layers warmer atmospheres with The Velveteers’ signature grit. The song was co-written and co-produced by Auerbach and Patrick Carney - marking the first time The Black Keys have produced together for another artist. “Go Fly Away” also features Carney on drums - bringing the drummer count to three - as well as Auerbach on guitar, backing vocals, and bass.

Demi Demitro created A Million Knives with her bandmates after a particularly grueling stretch of life on the road, as a way to process feeling used and fed up in the face of vulnerability. The album explores the typically-unspoken tolls of navigating a system that’s often less-than-compassionate; especially as a non-binary, queer and woman led rock 'n' roll band.

A Million Knives follows The Velveteers’ 2021 debut Nightmare Daydream, which quickly found them playing stadium stages with Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N' Roses and more. They’re currently in the midst of bringing that gripping, explosive live show across the country once again, on their first-ever headlining run, with upcoming stops in New York, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago and more.
