Thee Sacred Souls continue to build anticipation for their forthcoming album Got A Story To Tell (out October 4 on Daptone Records) with the release of “Waiting on the Right Time.” A song about balancing patience with seizing the moment and finding that ideal time to say “I love you,” “Waiting on the Right Time” explores a more psychedelic side of Thee Sacred Souls with heavy reverb and a searing guitar line over a swaggering groove that burns slow and steady. Thee Sacred Souls have also just announced a second leg of their ‘24-25 international tour, with sold out shows including Brooklyn’s Paramount Theater November 8. Their summer was filled with notable performances, including a triumphant debut at Celebrate Brooklyn for nearly 10,000 people, a spotlight set at Montreal Jazz Festival, and at Fool In Love in Los Angeles over Labor Day weekend, on a bill stacked with soul legends. The full tour schedule is detailed hereand the newly announced dates go on sale this Friday at 10AM local time (artist presale goes live at 10AM local time today) at theesacredsouls.com/tour-dates.

Got A Story To Tell, written by the band’s founding members Alejandro Garcia, Salvador Samano, and Josh Lane, features 12 brand new tracks that solidify Thee Sacred Souls' reputation as masters of their craft. Recorded at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, CA, under the expert guidance of producer Gabriel Roth, the album is a testament to the band's growth and their deepening connection to the soul music that inspired them. The album is rich with layers of sound—strings, smooth guitar, piano, congas, and horns—all coming together to weave tales of love, struggle, and triumph.
Punctuated with strings and smooth guitar, trundling piano, pops of conga, and horns, Got A Story To Tell is a thrilling, layered listen that slowly unravels a novella of characters and evocative tales. Lead single “Lucid Girl” champions independent women, set to some of the toughest sounding drums and bass the band has yet to put to tape. “Live For You” oozes with timeless style while revealing a message of perseverance and self love.
The highly anticipated follow-up to their self-titled 2022 breakout, Got A Story To Tell is a reflection of the band’s journey—marked by relentless touring, newfound fame, and the trials that come with rapid success. In just two years, the band’s “music of terrifyingly high quality” (UNCUT) led to a performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, several TV show appearances — Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Saturday, Kelly Clarkson, Jools Holland, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — six million monthly listeners on Spotify, an ever-growing list of celebrity fans including SZA, Alicia Keys, Leon Bridges, and Kylie Jenner, and festival debuts at Bonnaroo, Newport Folk, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza.
