After eight months of closure and the future in question, several UK venues have begun reopening with social distance restrictions in place. They include the O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall and Alexandra Palace.
The first live show to take place at O2 Arena is legendary British band Squeeze, who will perform to a reduced capacity crowd of 4,700 (the normal O2 Capacity is 20,000), with tickets sold in pairs, trios and groups of 4. On the eve of its 150th anniversary (March of 2021), the Royal Albert Hall will open in December with Christmas programming to include Handel's Messiah, Guy Barker's Big Band Christmas, The Royal Choral Society and more. Christmas season has always been a huge seller for the hall with over 121,000 tickets sold last Christmas season.
In addition to the O2 and Royal Albert Hall, Alexandra Palace, who's capacity is just over 10,000 normally, will hold socially distanced indoor events this fall featuring an array of comedy, theater and dj events. We're all hoping this may be the start of something good.
