May 3, 2025, 14-time Grammy Award-winner Lady Gaga will deliver a monumental performance at the famed Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Marking her first show in Brazil since 2012, the landmark free concert will take place on a custom stage built to bring Gaga’s creative vision to life. The show will be broadcast live on Multishow and TV Globo, starting at 9 PM BRT.
Fans from around the world are expected to attend the free event, which will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis for those arriving at Copacabana Beach near the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel on May 3.
Gaga’s performance at Copacabana Beach marks the launch of Todo Mundo no Rio, a new initiative created by Bonus Track and presented by Corona to highlight the impact of entertainment in Rio de Janeiro. The platform will present large-scale cultural events over the next several years, starting with this historic concert. Bonus Track, known for organizing globally recognized events such as Madonna’s Celebration Tour finale in 2024, the Rolling Stones’ 2006 concert, and all of Paul McCartney’s tours in Brazil since 1990, is producing the event in partnership with Live Nation.
Today’s announcement comes as “Abracadabra,” the latest single from Gaga’s upcoming album MAYHEM (out March 7 via Interscope Records) continues its ascent. Debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs Chart, the critically acclaimed track recently pushed Gaga past 124 million monthly listeners on Spotify, breaking the record for the largest monthly audience ever achieved by a female artist, marking a new career milestone.
Rolling Stone described “Abracadabra” as “a showcase of her return to dark pop that pays homage to the influences that shaped her career,” while Clash called it “a thrilling piece of pop music that moves from light to shadow with expert control.” Billboard praised its “explosive” energy and “high-intensity production,” highlighting how it builds on the darker electronic elements of “Disease.” Of the song, Pitchfork said “‘Abracadabra’ delivers a latex-tight hook in true Born This Way fashion, though a closer listen reveals traces of over a decade of artistic reinvention: a touch of Chromatica in the house piano, and a full-throttle vocal turn that unmistakably stems from serious theatrical training.”
The official music video for “Abracadabra,” directed by Gaga alongside Parris Goebel and Bethany Vargas, has already surpassed 47 million views on YouTube since its release on February 2. Featuring a visually striking dance battle between light and dark Gaga, the video has drawn comparisons to some of her most iconic work. Billboard described it as evoking Bad Romance with “its meticulous display of the intersection of various art forms” and “jaw-dropping high fashion.” Rolling Stone highlighted the frenetic choreography, calling it “an eruption of chaos and movement” that reinforces the concept of MAYHEM, recalling The Fame Monster era. Pitchfork called it “a high-concept production with impeccable styling,” adding that “Gaga remains a step above the average pop star; her true competition is the ghosts of her own past.”
“Disease,” which was released ahead of “Abracadabra,” has also been a defining moment in Gaga’s MAYHEM era. Lauded as “her best in a long while” by The Independent and praised by The Guardian for its “fizzing, distorted synths” and “pounding, slightly industrial beat,” the song became an instant fan favorite. Rolling Stone highlighted its “cavernous synth line” and “classic Gaga shout-along chorus,” further cementing its status as a powerhouse track. The music video, directed by Tanu Muino, was celebrated as “one of the best videos of the year” by Vogue and hailed by W as a “cinematic, almost theater-like experience.”
As anticipation builds for MAYHEM, “Die With a Smile”—Gaga’s collaboration with Bruno Mars (which is also featured on the album) has remained a dominant force. Amassing over 1.9B all-time streams to date, it became the longest-running No. 1 song on Spotify Global of all time and the fastest song in history to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. “Die With a Smile” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, and earned Gaga her 14th Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2025 Grammys.
Blending the eclectic energy that first captivated her fans with a bold, fearless artistic vision, MAYHEM explores themes of chaos and transformation, celebrating music’s power to unite, provoke, and heal. The 14-track project was executive produced by Gaga, Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt. Producers on the album include Gaga, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Gesaffelstein.
Building on a milestone year, Gaga will be honored with the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award at the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17, followed by headlining performances at Coachella on April 11 and 18.
