2020 won't let the world move on without one final slap. It turns out, MF DOOM — the iconic masked rapper and producer born Daniel Dumile — has died. MF DOOM's family confirmed the artist passed away back on Halloween, October 31, 2020, in a statement shared today through his social channels, though a cause of death was not revealed. He was 49.
"The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for," DOOM's wife Jasmine wrote. "Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be."

MF Doom, aka Daniel Dumile, was a British-born rapper, songwriter, and record producer best known for his "super villain" stage persona and rhyme-dense, humorous lyrical style. MF Doom's mask, similar to that of Marvel Comics super-villain Doctor Doom, is depicted rapping on the cover of the 1999 album Operation: Doomsday. MF Doom has appeared in several collaborative projects such as Madvillainy (with Madlib), Danger Doom (with Danger Mouse), Doomstarks (with Ghostface Killah), JJ Doom (with Jneiro Jarel), NehruvianDoom (with Bishop Nehru), and Czarface Meets Metal Face (with Czarface).
We can only hope that 2021 will bring some sort of order to the chaos and peace to the world, especially to the immediate family of MF Doom.
