Kesha has announced her own record label with plans for a new album in 2025.
The pop star - who had been signed to RCA and Kemosabe Records for years - is launching her own Kesha Records in partnership with ADA, who is set to handle global distribution. This marks Kesha's first distribution deal, as well as the first time she has ownership and creative control of her own music.
In a statement, the singer-songwriter said: "I am proud to announce this partnership for the distribution of my music through Kesha Records.
"My name has become synonymous with transparency, integrity, and safety, and I want to ensure that these values are upheld for myself and any future artists signed to my label.
"Music has the power to connect the world, and I aspire for my work to be a beacon of light and goodness.
"I am excited to take control of my narrative and rewrite my story in the music business."
Kesha's new album will drop next year, with ADA and Crush Music working together to oversee marketing and promotion for the collection. Cat Kreidich, ADA president, said: "Since the start of her career, Kesha's authenticity has distinguished her as a true artist whose vibrant self-expression resonates strongly with her fans.
"We believe ADA is the ideal home for her, and we're honored and committed to supporting Kesha as an independent artist while maintaining her creative integrity and unapologetic bold-spirit."
The 'Joyride' singer - whose recent single marked her first as an independent artist - split from Kemosabe and Vector Management in December last year, six months after settling lawsuits with former producer and label owner Dr. Luke. Her 2023 record Gag Order was the last album to come as part of her Kemosabe and RCa deal.
Back in March she wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "First day I've owned my voice in 19 years. Welcome."
Kesha has earned two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with Animal (2010) and Rainbow (2017), and the top-ten records Warrior (2012) and High Road (2020).
As of 2013, she has reportedly sold over 33 million combined tracks and ringtones in the U.S. alone and over 55 million globally to date.
