“It’s the ‘90s. It’s new. It’s here. And it’s now!” says Sawyer Brown.
The new single reflects on the magnitude of miles Sawyer Brown has logged over a 40-year career. The band revives the fast-paced, twang-laden excellence that inspired the next generation of country artists and cemented it as one of the most important cultural staples of the genre in the 80s and 90s.
“Under This Ole Hat” is the kickoff of Sawyer Brown’s 40th anniversary celebration. The group will follow with the highly anticipated Get Me To The Stage On Time documentary, premiering Sunday, October 1st at the Nashville Film Festival. The film features Executive Producer Blake Shelton, and other artists including Dolly Parton, Dierks Bentley and more.
After winning the first-ever televised singing competition Star Search (Britney Spears, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and more) in 1983, the band became a genre staple thanks to hits including "Some Girls Do" (1992), "Thank God for You" (1993), “Step That Step” (1985) and more. The band’s storied career includes awards such as the Country Music Association's Horizon Award, the Academy of Country Music's Vocal Group of the Year, multiple CMT Video Group of the Year Awards and beyond.
