As the Senior Manager, Copyright, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Deal Processing function within Concord’s US Copyright department. You will be responsible for the complete end-to-end processing of all publishing agreements (new deals, modifications, terminations, extensions, etc.), ensuring they are properly onboarded into Concord’s systems and notified to all relevant external parties.

This position will oversee the day-to-day management of one direct report, which includes, but is not limited to, being responsible for delegating and ensuring tasks are delivered upon agreed timelines and standards, onboarding and training junior staff, setting goals and evaluating performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll do:

- Review and interpret publishing agreements, extract relevant information (copyright ownership details, royalty rates, rate variations and sub-codes, payee details etc.) and ensure timely and accurate contract and royalty setups in Concord’s systems.

- Notification of rights to the North American CMOs, digital partners and affiliate offices. Following up where necessary with North American CMOs and other income sources to ensure Concord’s claims are accurate and complete.

- Liaise with various departments including Business Affairs, Royalties and Finance, as well as sub-publishers, writers, clients, etc., with respect to rights research, song and statement queries, information requests, data updates and client and rate amendments.

- Help develop, implement, codify and socialize technology and process/workflow improvements on the Deal Processing team.

- Maintain departmental progress reports and KPI reporting.

- General day-to-day people management includes onboarding, training and retention of staff; ensuring processes and tasks are delivered upon agreed timelines and standards; defining project parameters and progress metrics; setting goals and evaluating performance.

- Handling and/or managing ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

What you’ll need:

- 5-7 years of experience working for a music publishing company.

- 1-2 years of demonstrated people management experience.

- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing new technologies, processes and procedures.

- Solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills with a drive for constant improvement.

- Goal-oriented, self-motivator with demonstrated ability to work both within a team and independently while taking full ownership of tasks.

- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining high levels of accuracy and accountability under short deadlines and time pressure.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate and explain complex information, adapting presentation and focus to varying audiences.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookup functions, pivot tables, cleaning data, conditional formatting, etc.).

*This job is hybrid- requiring 3 days a week minimum on site.
