JOB PURPOSE

Intermission Film is currently seeking a full-time Music Assistant to join our team. This role is primarily administrative in nature and provides an entry point into our dynamic creative agency focused on the Film andamp; TV industries.

As a Music Assistant, you will work closely with the Music Supervisor and our team to capture and document music and sound design usage across various productions spanning multiple territories. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of our agency while collaborating with a group of passionate film and TV enthusiasts.

Responsibilities include managing the company’s music metadata, generating cuesheets across different offices, and ensuring the accuracy of music and sound design reporting in all Intermission edits. The Music Assistant will be responsible for organising, logging, and processing audio data used across projects, developing a comprehensive understanding of music rights, and addressing potential issues with meticulous attention to detail.

This role focuses on the administrative aspects of music and sound within our vibrant and fast-paced international creative agency. It is important to note that this position does not involve music composition.

This is an in-person role based in our offices in Shoreditch, London.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Using AVID Media Composer and Adobe Premiere to generate Music and Sound Design Cue Sheets to report usage accurately

- Creating accurate and considered cue sheets with a high level of attention and detail, for all Client partners, including but not limited to Streaming

- Companies, Film Production companies and Distributors

- Learning and understanding the international landscape of Music and Sound Design rights holders, catalogue codes and conventions to be able to identify the source audio at a glance

- Building a knowledge of the intricacies of music publishing and master rights at a global level, in the context of media post production

- Working to develop ownership of the global music reporting chain, optimising workflows cross-office and departments

- Identifying and reporting any potential issues so they can be actioned internally

- Accurately tagging, cataloguing and organising internal audio assets, updating and correcting metadata, logging new registrations and cue information with absolute precision.

- Dealing with a significant volume of music and audio data in an administrative capacity

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Excellent attention to detail

- Motivated and eager to learn

- Highly organised and a love of spreadsheets

- Basic understanding of Music Rights

- Brilliant communication skills

- Capable of handling and disseminating large quantities of information

- A background in Postproduction or Music Business desirable

- Basic proficiency in edit programs such as AVID and Premiere
