Kobalt Music Publishing is hiring a Director in our Contract Administration team with strong people management and communication skills. Reporting into the Global Head of Client Services andamp; Administration, you’ll become the specialist for our publishing client agreements ensuring contracts are entered correctly into our system whilst developing a thorough understanding of all internal system and processes.

The successful candidate is a natural communicator as well as a proactive and curious individual. You are also self-motivated and enjoys technical challenges and problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT DOES A DIRECTOR, CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AT KOBALT DO?

- You oversee Kobalt’s Contract Administration function and act as the manager for all Contract Admin employees globally.

- You oversee several business-critical functions related to the interpretation, implementation and general administration of Kobalt’s publishing client contracts, including but not limited to:

- Onboarding new client agreements into Kobalt’s system.

- Overseeing the successful administration of complex contractual events, including but not limited to MDRC and option tracking, contingent and committed advances, rate changes, novations, extensions and terminations.

- Working cross-functionally with members of Kobalt’s Business Affairs and Operations departments to ensure the successful administration of Kobalt’s contracts.

- You provide expert guidance to a variety of internal teams regarding catalog registrations, royalties and statements, and general administrative matters for client accounts (including with senior members of Kobalt’s management team).

- You field questions from and supply information relating to client accounts and internal operations to other departments within the business.

- You lead working groups steering discussions to identify innovative solutions to complex departmental challenges and to improve efficiencies internally, overseeing the successful implementation of new strategies resulting from discussions.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

- You have an expert end-to-end understanding of the role of a music publisher, key contractual terminology and the rights flow of copyright chain of title, licenses, and royalties.

- You are a natural communicator and adaptable team player, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients and colleagues as well as senior management stakeholders.

- You are detail-driven and highly organized, with an analytical mindset and numerical skills.

- You can work independently in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities in high intensity situations while maintaining professionalism and poise.

- You are comfortable with database query software such as Athena or SQL Developer.
