ROLE MISSION
As the AandR Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the AandR team, ensuring accountability, raising standards, and executing a competitive strategy in artist signings. You work closely with the Head of Music to align new music signings with company objectives and audience preferences.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing, and creating accountability for the AandR team, elevating standards, and executing a competitive strategy in artist signings.
- Working with the Head of Music, executing new music signing decisions aligned with company objectives and audience tastes.
- Owning and effectively allocating the AandR budget for acquiring new music.
- Negotiating multiple high-priority deals for new artist signings and existing roster deals.
- Improving artist communications, setting clear expectations and working with the marketing team to identify priorities.
- Identifying and nurturing emerging and established artists, developing a strong artist roster while keeping a constant pulse on the NCS niche and broader market trends.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Minimum 5 year’s experience at a music company – record label, management company or music publisher with a proven track record in prospecting artists.
- A very strong understanding of the market NCS works within, our label competitors and the genres we release.
- A network of existing relationships with high-level artists, writers and producers that will be relevant to NCS’ business.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate deals and resolve disputes.
- An understanding of music rights, recording andamp; publishing agreements, and copyright
- Experience managing individuals or teams.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including artists, songwriters, lawyers, and external partners.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
