UMA is on the lookout for a Senior Director of Streaming (within the Commercial Team). The role is based in our Sydney office and will be responsible for the amplifying of artists’ content, presence, and profile across all subscription, streaming digital business partners including UMA’s digital playlisting channels.
This role is a unique opportunity to design, experiment and share your own creative andamp; strategic ideas about how to drive consumer behaviour in the digital space.
The role will work across all UMA repertoire, executing marketing andamp; promotional strategies which drive consumption and revenue. Importantly, this position will be tasked with leading, inspiring, and developing a team of streaming partnership managers who will ultimately be responsible for nurturing day to day relationships with partners.
Success in this role will require expert negotiation, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, as well as the genuine desire to develop and coach others. You will be required to provide direction, insight and communication across various department in the business including labels, and leadership teams in order to deliver upon agreed outcomes and objectives.
This role will also require a level of comfortability around data in order to provide market leading services to our artists and labels.
Most importantly, you must be music crazy, passionate about our industry, and a natural relationship builder.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Team Management
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Streaming Partnership Managers
The role will also be required to develop efficient team process within the team.
Partners Relationships:
- Develop strong relationships with all key contacts across DSPs
- Collaborate with DSPs to identify opportunities with UMA assets to help grow their businesses and achieve KPIs.
- Identify new channels and campaign opportunities to expand our current presence/revenue and create new opportunities for our artists.
Strategy andamp; Monetisation of content:
- Collaborate with all internal stakeholders to increase our streaming share for priority releases.
- Oversee team to ensure that content is monetised across all platforms and artists receive appropriate representation across the digital landscape both on and off platform.
- Oversee the development and execution of the UMA curation strategy.
Insights andamp; Data:
- Partner with the Data team to foster a practice of actively using Universal data and analytics throughout all activities to maintain an in-depth understanding of subscription streaming partner capabilities
- Ensure future platform and format opportunities are maximised and digital trends identified.
- Oversee a team that regularly research and understand our artists’ fan base to enable engagement through promotional moments and further audience growth.
Label Partnership:
- Manage understanding and execution of best practice strategies designed to deliver achievement of platform
- KPIs with key label personnel
- Provide input, direction and communication to the label teams to influence decision-making that affects key commercial outcomes.
- Foster artist and management relationships as required to gain insights in order to build unique and innovative artist content.
Cross Team Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborate approach with wider business units both locally and globally
- Integrate fan-centric campaigns into marketing andamp; promotional opportunities in order to build direct access fan databases and audience building initiatives.
About you:
- You will have 6-8 years’ experience in a similar role within the music or entertainment industry (must have demonstrated experience within the digital streaming/audio space)
- Degree qualified (preferred)
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Expert communicator and strong stakeholder management skills
- High level of creativity, innovation and enthusiasm to new ideas
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and planning/prioritisation
- Natural negotiator and relationship builder
- Forward thinking and able to apply a creative mindset to strategy
- Passionate about music and willing to work outside of standard office hours on occasion
- Proficiency in using MS software packages (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in using Google Suite
