Today, Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist Aloe Blacc releases “One Good Thing,” the second single from his highly anticipated album Stand Together (Grand Scheme Productions via Vydia, a gamma. company), set for release on February 28, 2025 –– in partnership with the philanthropic community of the same name. Stand Together is a genre-spanning collection of 12 tracks that blend his signature soulful sound with a powerful message of unity, empathy, and resilience. Every song on the album is paired with a philanthropic cause, showcasing Aloe’s ongoing, deep commitment to using music as a catalyst for social change. The album weaves universal themes of hope, collaboration, and community.

Inspired by a chance meeting with U2’s Bono and The Edge at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, the new single, “One Good Thing,” reflects the importance of empathy and finding the best in others, even amidst conflict or differences of opinion. During the encounter, Bono shared a poignant story from civil rights icon Harry Belafonte about a conversation with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King had implored Belafonte to find “one good thing” about Bobby Kennedy to gain his support for the civil rights movement. That simple act of grace led to a transformative alliance between Kennedy and the movement before his untimely death. Moved by this story and the shared legacy and commitment of using music for activism, Aloe penned “One Good Thing” as a soulful call to seek understanding and build bridges.

This song is about the power of perspective—seeing the good in others and using that to create meaningful change,” says Aloe Blacc. “It’s a reflection of what we can achieve when we focus on empathy and connection, even in challenging times.

Last month, Aloe announced his first album of original music in five years, Stand Together, with the release of lead single “Don’t Go Alone,” which he debuted with a powerful performance on Good Morning America. Inspired by the African proverb “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” the song quickly resonated with audiences, setting the tone for an album dedicated to unity, resilience, and collective progress. This powerful message aligns with and was inspired by the mission of The Phoenix, a Stand Together community partner and national sober active community that provides free, active, and meaningful programming to anyone impacted by substance use.

Stand Together is a great example of an artist using his art to inspire collaboration and positive change, and showcases Aloe’s unparalleled ability to blend meaningful storytelling with genre-defying music. The album, which spans pop, RandB, and soul, features collaborations with acclaimed producers including Stargate, Oak Felder, DJ Khalil and Hunter Hayes, and maintains a steadfast focus on themes of openness, empowerment, and social change. This message rings true to the album’s namesake Stand Together, a philanthropic community that works to tackle the root causes of our country’s biggest problems.

Elsewhere on the album, Aloe’s  deeply personal “Daddy Told Me So” reflects on the lessons passed from one generation to the next, while “Not on My Watch” honors the teachings of the late Harry Belafonte, advocating for vigilance and peace in the fight for justice. Other standout tracks include a reimagining of Marvin Gaye’s iconic “What’s Going On,” examining societal divisions and calling for collective reflection and “Grow Together,” a celebration of urban farming and community-building inspired by organizations like Bonton Farms.

Aloe will bring his artistry to the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City with a three-night residency from January 24 to 26, performing two shows each night. He  will showcase songs from this forthcoming album –– alongside fan favorites like “Wake Me Up,” “I Need A Dollar,” and “The Man” –– offering an intimate and unforgettable experience for audiences. This residency at one of the world’s most renowned music venues highlights Aloe’s versatility and deep connection to his craft, setting the stage for an extraordinary year in his career. Tickets are available now, HERE.

Aloe  has already begun 2025 on a high note, performing live on Good Morning America on New Year’s Day – with a performance of the album’s title track “Stand Together” –  and headlining the Opening Spectacular of the iconic 2025 Rose Parade. Additionally, he is honored to be featured in Netflix’s newly released documentary, Avicii – I’m Tim, which chronicles the life and legacy of his dear friend and collaborator, Avicii.
