Balming Tiger, the trailblazing avant-garde music collective, released their latest music video "UP!" Starring renowned Korean actor Koo Kyohwan, the video features Balming Tiger members in cameo roles with Leesuho taking on the directorial reins.

The music video unfolds in an unconventional backdrop of a mart, portraying the rocky relationship between a mart employee and his girlfriend. It leaves viewers questioning if the depicted events are fantasies, recollections, or the harsh realities of a breakup.

In a recent profile by The New York TimesBalming Tiger was hailed as an alternative collective challenging what modern K-Pop looks and sounds like. The group's grassroots origin story is a rarity in the idol-centric world, reflecting their commitment to individuality and artistic expression. Balming Tiger's unique identity within the K-pop landscape is emphasized through their refusal to conform to the traditional idol mold.

Comprising of performers Omega Sapien, sogumm, bj wnjn, and Mudd the student, producers San Yawn and Unsinkable, video directors Jan' Qui and Leesuho, DJ Abyss, visual artist Chanhee Hong, and writer Henson Hwang, the alt-k-pop collective boasts a diverse range of talents contributing to their unparalleled sound and visual identity.

As they continue to make waves in 2024, Balming Tiger’s “UP!” music video comes after the successful joint release of fan-favorites "Buriburi” and “Pigeon and Plastic” in January, which has accumulated millions of views to date. They are also set to perform at this year's Head In The Clouds festival in NYC, taking place May 11th and 12th at Forest Hills Stadium. More details to come.

The group's breakthrough at SXSW 2023, where they clinched the Grulke Prize has set the stage for their meteoric rise. Balming Tiger's blend of genres, electrifying energy, and powerful stage presence earned them recognition from Rolling Stone as part of the "Future 25" and accolades from Consequence, Hypebeast, Stereogum, and Vogue, who proclaimed that "Balming Tiger Is Turning K-pop Upside Down," establishing them as one of the most exciting and promising new acts in music today. The group's global impact is evident through their recent world tour, which included stops at Pitchfork Fest London, Iceland Airwaves, and Tyler The Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw at Dodger Stadium.
